Course Overview

This unit equips learners with the skills for effective evaluation, analysis, and implementation of organizational change. Learners will examine the attributes and effectiveness of change agents, focusing on leadership and flexibility, and reflect on personal growth areas. They will explore change theories, tools, and techniques, assessing internal and external triggers. Practical application includes developing change management strategies, emphasizing systematic change, effective communication, and cultural aspects. The unit covers various change models and tools, such as the 7-S model and Lewin’s three-step model, guiding learners in creating comprehensive change plans, selecting relevant tools, and monitoring progress. Stakeholder responses to change, including managing resistance and conflict resolution, are analyzed.

The role of business functions in change management is assessed, highlighting integration and communication with internal stakeholders.

A significant focus is on the digital environment, exploring how automation, platforms, and collaborative software can enhance change management. By combining theory with practical applications, the unit prepares learners to effectively navigate and lead organizational change in a dynamic, digital business environment.

The main assessment method will be as follows: 100% Assignment (Word Count: 4,000 – 6,000 words)

  • Applicants must hold a qualification at MQF Level 4 or equivalent.
  • Professional Experience: Although not mandatory, relevant work experience in business management or a related field will be considered an advantage.
  • Demonstrated interest in strategic business management principles and practices, with a commitment to successfully completing the programme.
  • Language Proficiency: Applicants from countries where English is not the primary language must provide evidence of English proficiency, such as an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent.
